Since restructuring its front office and coaching staff and appointing Arturas Karniovas and Billy Donovan to manage each division, the Bulls have dramatically boosted their victory total in each of the past two seasons. In a shortened 72-game schedule in the 2020–21 season, they compiled a 31–41 record, nine more wins than their 22 triumphs in the previous campaign.

If the Chicago Bulls still aim to fight their way through the play-in tournament and qualify for the NBA Playoffs, they’ll have their work cut out for them.

This is how the rankings for the Eastern Conference teams outside of the top four would look if we extrapolated winning percentages over an 82-game season. Even if it’s impossible to expect every team to continue on their current path, especially in Brooklyn’s case, it does at least provide us a starting point for what to anticipate moving forward.
